MA PERSONAL CARE AIDES JUST WON A HISTORIC CONTRACT. . .SO CAN CONSUMER DIRECT CAREGIVERS!

Pathway to $25/hour!

Over the next few years, MA PCA wages will increase to hit $25/hour. Also, PCAs that have worked for more years will be paid a higher rate to reward experience.

Complex Care Differential!

PCAs who care for consumer employers with complex needs (as defined by the state) will be paid an additional $3.25/hour.

Retirement Account!

The state will create a tax deferred retirement savings account by October 2025 to help us retire with dignity. 

Professional Development Program!

PCAs who complete a 25-hour curriculum developed by PCAs and consumer employers will receive a $1,000 stipend.

Paid Time Off Improvements!

PCAs will be able to cash out paid time off (up to 50 hours/year) at any time.

2 More Holidays!

PCAs won Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth as additional holidays, which brings them closer in line to holidays observed by workers throughout Massachusetts.

Privacy Protections!

PCAs social security numbers will no longer be on the pay registers sent to consumer employers’ homes, protecting workers against identity theft.

Protections from late payment!

PCAs will be notified if there are issues with our timesheets or with consumers’ authorized hours. We also strengthened our pay grievance process.
